July 2011

Who was visiting?
A group enrolled on the University of Ulster TALKS AND TOURS programme, 21 in all.

Where did they go?
First we used the bus to get to the Seabird Centre where we had great views of all the birds. Then we walked around Mill Bay. There was a picnic lunch for the group, using the new, very sturdy picnic tables. After that most of the group enjoyed a walk up to the East Light.

Best bit?
Easy flower to spot right at the Manor House was Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately the group missed out on some close up views of a Minke whale, which I was lucky to see later in the day from the ferry.

What about the weather?
Warm and largely dry, which was better than the forecast had suggested.
